Gerry Hogaboam

Painterly, bold, expressive strokes of paint – representational and abstract – capture the essence of Gerry Hogaboam’s chosen subject in acrylic and watercolour. Gerry continues to develop her technical skill and intuitive, personal style through daily painting, select workshops and intensive studies begun in 2006 at the Haliburton School of Art & Design.

A retired educator, her early work derived inspiration from the rugged landscape of the Canadian Shield surrounding her studio in Haliburton. In 2017, she relocated to an 1840 stone-cottage home in Loyalist township in Ontario. The Eastern Ontario landscape bordering Lake Ontario, its historic towns and agricultural roots are the motifs expressed in the contemporary-style landscapes, still lifes and florals of Gerry Hogaboam’s recent work.

As an active member of various art associations – Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (associate), East and Central Ontario Art Associations, Bath Artisans, Greater Napanee Area Art Association, and Visual Artists Gananoque Area – Gerry shares her joy in life and her passion for creating with the viewer.
